What we collect
When you send a selling or buying enquiry we collect your name, email address, telephone number, preferred contact method, any visit date you suggest, descriptions of items, optional photographs, and any gold calculator figures you chose to include. We also receive technical details needed to run the form, such as a one-time key that helps stop the same enquiry being sent twice.
Why we use it
We use this information to reply to you, to prepare for an in-person valuation, and to keep a record of the enquiry on the buying desk. We do not sell your details. A copy of the enquiry may be emailed to you and to the desk when email sending is switched on.
Photographs
Photographs you upload are stored privately on the server and can be opened only by signed-in staff. They are not published on the public website.
How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for up to two years unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires a different period.
Where it is stored
The public website is hosted in the cloud. The buying desk and enquiry files are held on our application server in the United Kingdom. Gold rates are fetched from a market-data provider using a server key; that service does not receive your name or contact details.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact us by telephone or at either shop. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.
